Day 1: Hello Arizona!!!

We started the day right on schedule. We left apple valley at about 8 am. The boys were super excited. I have a pretty gnarly head cold that makes mornings a little sluggish, but I took the wheel and we headed out!

We made the boys get out on the side of the highway to take a picture with the welcome to Arizona sign. Noah did not want to stand next to his brother. So he was surly. Jack was mad at me for yelling at him (well as much as my raspy voice could yell) to hold my hand so he didn't get run over by an 18 wheeler.

Our first stop was Kingman, Arizona. We grabbed some in n out and picnicked at the rt 66 locomotive park.

We filled up on gas and continued east. We made it to Williams, AZ at about 230. We then went to Bearizona Wildlife Park. Pretty cool. You drive through for a couple of miles, seeing all kinds of large animals really up close. We saw bison, rams, burros, wolves, and a bunch of black bears.

Then you get out and they have some zoo like animal enclosures. We got to see three white wolves howling together. It was pretty amazing.

We then proceeded to the gift shop where Noah bought a wallet and jack bought a toy veterinarian kit. We also got to see some bear cubs being bottle fed. So cool!

We then went and checked into our hotel, letting the boys jump from bed to bed for a few minutes (shhh...). When they started wrestling WWF style, we decided it was time to hit the town for some dinner. We ate at a classic 50's soda fountain diner, Twister's. It was not spectacular, but a fun rt 66 atmosphere.

After dinner and ice cream we hit the indoor pool and jacuzzi for a bit. Jacuzzi time was much needed!

And now, we sleep.....
